"Pretty Boring" Post #9

Describe the Rusty Ruins. What are they? What happened during this time period?
The Rusty Ruins is a civilazation that no longer exists. It's an old city filled with trees and mountains.  THe book says it's a time period when "...there'd been too many people, and everyone was incredibly stupid.  And ugly."  Basically the Rusty Ruins takes place in a time period when people were still able to think and act for themselves and have seperate appearances...LIKE NOW.

Define peer pressure. Think of a time when it happened to you or someone you know and explain the situation in a paragraph.

Peer pressure is when someone your age convinces you to do something you don't want to do, whether it be right or wrong.  There could be positive peer pressure, meaning a friend convinces you to stop being lazy and do your homework.  When I was 16 I had a good friend that was, let's just say, WAY more outgoing and adventurous than myself.  I knew she was a crazy driver, which I'm not, and I got into the car with her anyway.  She decided to pass two school buses, on the RIGHT side of the road.  So, for this illegal act we were pulled over by 3 police cars.  Out of these cars stepped 6 cops!  GEEZ, I knew I was dead meat.  Can you believe she cried her way out of acting like an idiot?  She's the tall gorgeous type so I'm guessing that works for those people.
After this instance I drove when we went anywhere together.

  4. Man I wish they would have put both you and your friend in the slammer!!! just kidding. If that was my dad that pulled you over I would have told him to let you and your friend off the hook. If I were you I would have slapped your friend a little so she would come to her senses!! :D

  5. Oh my goodness Mrs. Copeland!!!! That's hilarious! I think you should of backed off on that one. But i guess since we're talking about peer pressure, that's a great example. I'm guessing it's something you didn't really want to do? I hope! I guess you can laugh at it today, but i bet you were really scared when it happened. I don't know where anyone would get the nerve to do that. But it's a good thing you turned out okay and you or your friend didn't get hurt. You're friend sounded a little on the crazy side. But I think everyone has at least one crazy and freakish friend. Haha.
